New Orleans Wedding | Gabbie + Jaques
Classy Art-Deco Wedding at Brennans in New Orleans, Louisiana
It’s always been a dream of mine to celebrate one of my couples in the colorful soulful city of New Orleans with a Second Line! When Gabbie and Jaques first reached out, they told me they wanted to get married in the city where they first met! Gabbie and Jaques, both of whom were living in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the time met unexpectedly at the Ritz Carlton hotel in New Orleans one evening before going out. I remember during their speeches at their welcome party dinner, everyone saying, it was love at first site, and they couldn’t leave each others side after that. Gabbie is the owner of Pure Barre here in Fayetteville, and Jaques is a brilliant real estate agent. Check out their in home engagement session here where you can see their beautiful Art Deco / Louisiana inspired home and Gabbie play the piano in their formal wear!
One of my favorite parts about Gabbie and Jacques Wedding was how colorful all of their photos are. It’s life giving! Brennans is this beautiful coral building where we did wedding party photos as well as bridals and It pops with the contrast of the bridesmaids dresses. Gabbie and Jacques were so intentional about their wedding and brought in so many different aspects that resembled them as a couple, like loving bananas foster and oysters for the guests on the dance floor! They even had a hot dog truck come out for late night!! Gabbie’s dress from Joon Bridal was elegant, chic with a bit of shine! The long sleeves were perfect for a February wedding!
The ceremony, dancing and cocktail hour was held in Brennans Courtyard, which can accommodate up to 150 guests! It was the perfect place to flip from one scene to the next! They great thing about this place and even New Orleans in general is you do not have to do much as far as decorating goes! Maybe some flowers here and there but see for yourself below! Okay now for the best part! The second line parade is a tradition among New Orleans weddings, it includes a brass band, dancers dancing in colorful outfits, and it signifies the start of a new beginning of life for the bride and groom. The really cool thing about this is, anyone can join, which feels like the whole city is participating in celebrating your marriage as you walk down the colorful streets of the French quarter. Check out the link here in how to plan a second line for your wedding.
