Meet Laura Powers
Hi sweet friends
I’ve always been an emotional, swim in the deep end, empath kind of person and I feel things so deeply and that’s something I want to be shown through my photos. There is no secret sauce to documentary candid wedding photography. After countless weddings I’ve documented I’m convinced unlimited hours of coverage on wedding day is paramount in letting the organic and natural moments unfold. 8 hours is not enough time for me to get creative and the stress of rushing will always show up on camera. It is such a privilege to be apart of a deeply vulnerable and personal day and I feel incredibly grateful I can create art through beautiful people. You all have changed my life in the most wholesome way.
I aspire for people to feel movement in a still photograph, and for people to see my role not just as a documentarian but as a conduit for the emotions and energy of a wedding day as well as feel the sense of authenticity with how I tell each story through imagery.
