I first met Alyssa and Spencer when they flew me out to Sacramento for their engagement session. We spent the day exploring the city, capturing moments that truly reflected who they are. Afterward, we grabbed dinner and drinks, where we dove into their story, dreams, and wedding vision. Alyssa, who has a passion for painting, drawing, traveling, and trying new restaurants, shared her love for all things artistic. Spencer, who she met on Hinge in 2020, is just as down-to-earth and genuine. They're both from California and have a shared history through mutual friends at Reno University. It’s funny how life works, especially when dating apps actually work, lol.

Their wedding weekend was held at the beautiful Cavaignac Retreat to the Farm in Sacramento was nothing short of magical. It truly might be one of the best venues / places to get married in Sacramento, California. They wanted their weekend captured as it truly was, with genuine emotions and interactions taking center stage. The estate provided the perfect backdrop for their day, especially with the spring blooms in full effect. One of the most emotional moments was their first look, where they read their vows to each other privately before their ceremony.. The love and connection between them were undeniable, I swear I need to carry tissues with me every time I shoot a wedding.

Their friends were the ultimate hype crew, making wedding party photos an absolute blast. Alyssa’s first look with her father was another touching moment that left hardly a dry eye in the room.

The cocktail hour was a personal favorite of mine—the lighting was perfect, the guests were dressed to impress, and there was this infectious energy of joy. People were laughing, enjoying their drinks, and capturing fun moments on film. It was one of those times when you could just feel that everyone was having the time of their lives. I don’t care what anyone says, it is IMPERATIVE to me that you get to enjoy cocktail hour with your friends and family! It’s such a beautiful part of the day and one of the times you will get the best candid photos photographed. Please don’t let anyone talk you out of this — with as many weddings as I’ve shot, these have become some of my favorites.

Alyssa and Spencer’s love for editorial and classic vibes, especially flash photos, made it all the more special to document their day. It was a wedding full of real, raw moments that I feel honored to have been a part of.
