Jackson Hole Summer Wedding | Rachel + Terry
For those that don’t know, I have called Jackson, Wyoming home during the summers. I shot a couple weddings there in 2022 and it’s haunted me ever since I left that first time, and I knew somehow I needed to make my way back there. I transformed my truck camper into my house on wheels and jetted off for the summer to make Jackson my new home. Last summer was undoubtedly one of the best summer’s of my life. I found my independence, made beautiful new friends, white water rafted, learned to fly fish, hiked up mountains weekly, swam in beautiful alpine lakes, and got a little rowdy at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. When Rachel and Terry reached out about their Jackson wedding at Snake River Ranch, I didn’t care what it took, I loved them so much after our first call, I was ALL in to photograph their wedding. Two of the most caring, extra fun, lovely couples I’ve ever met and I still think of them often and how much fun we had dancing to the silent disco on the dance floor. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never photographed a silent disco before, but I’m telling you it was surprisingly so much fun, so freeing and when you took off your head phones you just hear everyone humming and singing to the songs and dancing their asses off lol. What I love about Jackson is they do keep in mind the wildlife. Snake River Ranch is only permitted to have a certain number of weddings per year that can have a full band or Dj play out loud. This was not an issue for Rachel and Terry because they had the best dancing crew ever and it was pretty much “lit” (are we still saying this?… sorry the millennial in me is coming through) from start to finish!
What’s incredible about Snake River Ranch, is that it’s a completely blank slate with literally the best views of the Tetons! I’ve always adored tent weddings and even more so cocktail hour and dinner al fresco style under the stars. Natural light makes such a huge difference during these times in my opinion! You can bring in whatever you want to and if you’re at a loss, I know some of the best planners and designers in and around Jackson who can literally bring any idea to life. Magnolia Ranch events was such an incredible team to work with. I love when I can just talk shop with planners, dance with them and laugh until we cry because the toasts were extra hilarious.
I feel like destination weddings are making a strong come back and so many guests are always so stoked to be able to travel to Jackson, Wyoming for a wedding / vacation! If you’re needing some great places to stay, my favorite boutique motel (hotel) is The Anvil! Pretty simple and right in town close to everything, plus affordable! There are also beautiful air Bnb’s everywhere if you can find a big group to stay with. Or hell, come stay with me in my truck camper there lol. “Van lifeeeee” kidding, kind of. After most of my weddings the after party is always at The Million Dollar Cowboy, and trust me if you haven’t been there, just go ahead and LET YOUR HAIR DOWN! There’s plenty of two stepping, pool playing and good live music to hear almost every night! Let’s not forget the biggest reason everyone get’s married there and that’s of course The Grand Teton National Park. If you’re looking for a nice easy breezy hike to a beautiful lake then I would suggest Taggart Lake! Don’t forget the water is a little chilly still. If you’re looking for something a little more vertical my favorite hike is Delta Lake! You’ll do some scrambling but it’s so worth it to get to the beautiful alpine lake up there.

You guys deserve all the light and happiness in the world and I can’t wait till we cross paths again… hopefully at the cowboy, in Jackson, where we will take shots lol. Love you both so much!
