Jackson Hole Elopement | Andrea + Terence
Modern and Intimate Elopement in Jackson Hole Wyoming at Grand Teton National Park
Lately, I’ve been traveling quite a bit for work. It makes me laugh inside thinking that this is “work” because how could it be? I’m running around some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, some that actually take my breath away. I think this might be one of my favorite places though, Jackson Hole WY. This was my second time back (I photographed a wedding here the month before) and it felt so good driving along 191 with the Tetons in view.
Andrea and Terence decided last minute to elope in Wyoming. They have a small wedding planned back home here in Arkansas but there was something pulling them to share a day in a beautiful place just the two of them. I’ve known Andrea for 7 years now, she’s unlike any woman you will ever meet. She’s an incredible rock climber, firefighter, all around good human being and one of the kindest friends. She will always make you feel beautiful, seen, heard and has always been a hype girl to all of her friends around her. I truly look up to her in so many ways. When Andrea and Terence started dating, I knew by the way he looked at her and especially the way they climbed together that this was something different. & here we are getting them hitched.
THE STORY:
Andrea and Terence booked a beautiful airbnb outside of Jackson overlooking this beautiful pasture and the backside of the Tetons. They woke up early in the morning and took their dogs on a hike where they picked wildflowers for her wedding bouquet. When I arrived, it felt so peaceful. Andrea was making coffee and Terence was out on the porch enjoying the cool breeze and taking in the mountains. They got ready together, Andrea put on her makeup outside on the porch as their dogs sat by their side the entire time.
After getting ready we left to go to their Ceremony spot, The Wedding Tree. I can’t begin to express enough how beautiful this spot was. It’s also a great way to avoid the $200 permit fee and paperwork that the National Park enforces. It’s dog friendly, easily accessible and just so raw and beautiful. It was overcast and moody all morning right until Andrea stepped up to the ceremony spot and the light just poured down on both of them. It was an emotional ceremony, their vows moved me and had me in tears.
After the Ceremony, they went about their day and enjoyed it just the two of them. As sunset came upon us we all met back up and one of my favorite spots I found last time I was in Jackson and just danced the night away in this beautiful field where the sun poured down yet again until blue hour. It was the best day, watching two of my good friends commit themselves to each other.
Hands down the best place to elope is Jackson Hole Wyoming. I’ll be putting out a blog on how to get married here and the best times, places to do so.
