Wedding At The Mayo Hotel | Gretchen + Nolan
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at The Mayo Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the lovely couple, Gretchen and Nolan. Let me just say, it was an absolute blast capturing their special day! Gretchen, a true Okie at heart, was born and raised in Oklahoma but currently resides in Charlotte. However, distance couldn't keep her away from tying the knot in her home state. With six years of dating under their belts, Gretchen and Nolan's love story began during their freshman year at SOU, and it only seemed fitting to celebrate their union where it all started.
Now, let's talk about Gretchen's vision for the wedding. She wanted genuine moments captured in a candid and organic way. No overly staged or posed shots here, folks. She wanted the emotions and joy of the day to shine through naturally, and that's exactly what I aimed for while photographing the event.
One of the most touching moments of the day was when Gretchen's brother walked her down the aisle. It was a heartfelt and meaningful gesture that truly showcased the close bond they share. And can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Gretchen and Nolan didn't have a first look? Yup, you read that right. The first time they laid eyes on each other was when Gretchen made her grand entrance down the aisle. Talk about anticipation and excitement! As a photographer, being able to capture that genuine reaction and emotion in real-time was truly special. The look on Nolan's face as Gretchen walked towards him was priceless, and it spoke volumes about their love for one another. It was one of those moments that reminds me why I do what I do.
