Eureka Springs Micro-Wedding | Kristen + Scott
1960’s Inspired Micro-Wedding at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR.
Kristen and Scott planned their intimate micro-wedding ceremony at Thorncrown Chapel and their reception at the famous Crescent Hotel. Okay but really, this wedding has my entire heart and so does my lovely bride Kristen. Throughout planning for her wedding day, Kristen knew exactly what she wanted her day to feel like and wanted it to reflect who her and Scott were together. Simplicity was the upmost importance to her wedding day, keeping that in mind that less is more and avoiding all the glitz, production and traditional wedding day rules.
Kristen was exceedingly intentional about every detail at her wedding. Even with a budget, she made sure to have special pieces and high quality handmade items that were unique to her and who she is as a person and be able to have those items to cherish forever. Kristen’s wanted a simple dress that she could wear without the dress wearing her. It was under $1000 from Ghost Bridal in London! Her boots were a last minute order that happened to pair so gracefully with her vintage dress and matched her everyday style so she can wear them again and again. Her linen headband was handmade by a local Etsy vendor, and her beaded ivory 1960’s clutch was also from Etsy. It makes me so excited when my couples ditch traditional and plan their wedding days to be exactly what THEY WANT it to be.
If you haven’t made your way out to Eureka Springs before to visit the iconic Crescent Hotel, do so in the fall! It’s a great venue to host smaller weddings and your guests at. The hotel has tons of activities for your guests during the weekend like spa days, nightly ghost tours -yes this is one of America’s most haunted hotels, (Check out the history of the hotel and why it’s so haunted here!) exploring and shopping downtown, mountain biking trails and hiking trails and beer and wine tours! It’s such a fun eclectic little town with hippie vibes and some pretty fun parties!
From the Bride:
Why did you chose your venue?
I chose Thorncrown Chapel after discovering it only 6 months prior, I thought it was so beautiful and unique. After sharing the idea with my husband, he told me he was already familiar with it, having learned about it in architecture school. After that, I felt like it was a sign that it was meant to be!
Why did you have a micro wedding?
We originally planned to elope, just the two of us. A couple months before, I had a change of heart and thought we may regret not sharing the special moment with our closest friends and family. It turned out to be the best decision ever. It was super intimate and fun!
What advice do you have for future couples getting married?
Figure out what you value and what traditions resonate with you most and don’t be afraid to toss out any fluff. It’s your day, it should make you happy, but don’t allow all the unnecessary stuff take away from the true reason you’re there. Remember, the wedding ends by midnight. ;)
